At Good As Gold Tattoo Studio, we prioritise client safety above all else, which is why we have a strict policy on what numbing creams we allow to be used for tattoo sessions. Many numbing creams intended for tattoo use that are available in the UK have had zero clearance, not been manufactured safely, are not legally licensed for sale and contain ineffective or dangerous contents... until now.
Introducing, EMLA® Pharmacy-strength Numbing Cream. EMLA® cream is licensed as a medicine by the 'UK medicines authority' for sale in the UK, licensed to numb for over 20 years, meets the quality and efficacy standards, is a genuine product available from UK-registered retailers/online pharmacies, and is licensed for sale in over 15 different countries. OF A TATTOO...
Some people feel much more relaxed attending their tattoo session using numbing cream, knowing that their discomfort will be eased slightly, and we are in full support of that. Our studio is a judge-free zone and a safe place for you to come & enjoy your visit, so we encourage our clients to bring along any comforting factors, if it means to enhance their experience with us.
Before using EMLA® numbing cream for your tattoos, we advise to read the manufacturers instructions carefully and to also consider the following guidelines for using EMLA®:
• Short-term relief only - lasts up to 2 hours
• Cannot be reapplied - once applied to your skin, it must not be used at all during the tattooing process
• If your tattoo session is longer than two hours & you are not comfortable about being tattooed once numbing has worn off, we suggest splitting up your sessions (ahead of time).
EMLA® can be purchased from your local pharmacy. Some pharmacists may query the reasons behind your purchase, however, on the emla.co.uk website it states it can be used for tattoos and should be readily available. You're also able to have the cream delivered to your door by buying online from the UK-registered pharmacies that are listed on emla.co.uk website. Please refrain from buying the cream from any other website other than EMLA® (emla.co.uk), due to the risk of purchasing dangerous fakes.

PLEASE NOTE - due to the fact we cannot be 100% certain that you are indeed using EMLA® numbing cream to your appointment and not an unsafe brand, you will be required to sign a waiver on your disclaimer form before your tattoo.
